The protector of the poor, the father of orphans, the teacher of sinners. San Spiridione was born in 270 AD in Cyprus to a rich family of shepherds; an occupation that he also followed despite his upbringing. Simple, kind, full of love for his neighbor, he was married and had a daughter named Irene. When his wife died, he devoted himself to teaching the word of God. He was ordained a priest and from this position, with virtue and faith, performed several miracles.
